The Rural Action Enrollment Network (RAEN) is an initiative in the tri-state rural western Maryland region to bring together organizations intimately involved in training and employing
consumer assistance workers that are outreaching to uninsured and newly insured consumers in Maryland,
Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
RAEN will increase the capacity of consumer assistance workers to provide benefits counseling to consumers in the region by providing education to both consumers and consumer assistance workers on best practices for choosing and using health insurance. RAEN will also continue to identify and analyze barriers to ACA enrollment and health insurance use for rural citizens with recommendations for future efforts.
In addition to grant recipient Mountain Laurel Medical Center, the Network includes the following partners: Tri-State Community Health
Center, Hyndman Area Health Center, Healthy Howard's The Door to Healthcare and Maryland AHEC West.
